Fast Facts 2009:

 

·        More than 5 million people visited Burton Barr Central Library and 15 branch locations.

 

·        900,000 people had a Phoenix Public Library card and checked out more than 14.2 million items.

 

·        Phoenix Public Library's collection included nearly 2 million books, DVDs and CDs.

 

·        The Library’s website (www.phoenixpubliclibrary.org) received more than 25.3 million hits.

Phoenix Public Library Foundation has raised more than $800,000 for Library programs and services,
including :

• Winter and summer reading programs
• Helped build Teen Central
• Art exhibits such as Lasting Light:  125 Years fo Grand Canyon Photography
  • The Berestain Bears Out West
  • Gardians of Camargue:  the French Buckaroo Tradition
• Adult literacy programs
• Hosted famous author Jodi Picoult

2009 Annual Budget:  $686,340.00
